Not long ago, I handed in my notice on a part time job that has been supporting me for the past few years.
While I genuinely enjoyed my time working there, it was time to go and, as scary as it is to say it out loud, that means that game audio, music and sound effects are now, entirely, how I make my living.
Which means I now have much more time available for my clients, for my customers and for the readers of my articles and tutorials.
And that’s great! Because if you use one of my stock music products, such as Ultimate Game Music, or if you read my articles or if you’re subscribed to my newsletter then you might be feeling that I’ve been a little bit absent lately.
Which is true…
Between keeping up a part time job, as well as a big increase in projects (in what is usually my quiet time of year), I haven’t had as much time as I would like for product updates, articles and the free audio assets I try to give out every month.
And that’s not okay, as the only reason I’m in a position to do this now is because of how so many of you have supported me in some way over the last 6 years.
So, if you have been patiently waiting for my next product update, or article, or video or even if you’re just here for the hell of it now (hi there), thank you for waiting, here’s what you can expect from me in 2019 and beyond.
Ultimate Game Music updates & new audio products
While my flagship music library has more than doubled in size since its first release, I haven’t been able to update Ultimate Game Music in recent months, however don’t worry, because you can expect a major update to the pack soon. If you’re one of the people that reached out to me and told me what you’d like to see in Ultimate Game Music, thank you, your comments have been heard and I’ll try to include the different styles of music that you said you wanted to see in the Collection.
As always the update will be free to everyone already owns Ultimate Game Music, no matter when you bought it so, if you’re eyeing it up now, you’ll still get the updates later. The update is planned for release later this year.
This month I also started working on a brand new product. There’s not much to share right now other than I’ve started working on it and that you can probably expect it to be released by the end of the year. Stay notified.
Free audio assets every month
If you’re subscribed to my mailing list, it’s my goal to give you something really useful every, single, month. And I don’t just mean tutorial content and articles, you’ll get free music and sounds effects that you can use in projects, commercially, for free, just by subscribing to my newsletter.
More videos & more articles
If you’ve been following me on YouTube, and I know a couple of people do, then you may have watched the Sun Temple audio project series I’m doing. Now, while I’m completely aware that my videos only reach a handful of people, I know that they have been useful to the small number of people that watch them (because you told me), so expect more! Starting with the rest of the Sun Temple series (the next video is on footsteps, it’s taking ages but it’s going to be worth it, you’re gonna love it).
Expect more written tutorials, tips and other articles in your inbox as well. Your response to the articles I’ve written so far has been fantastic, and I’ve even gotten a few suggestions from you about what you’d like to see next. Make a suggestion.
A huge thank you
As I move forward into what is the most terrifying/exciting part of my career so far, I’m trying to remind myself that, when I decided to do this for a living all those years ago, I had no idea how to get started, I had no idea if I would be able to make money doing it and I didn’t really know if any of it was even possible for me.
But it is possible…
Because of all of the help I’ve had along the way, from my family, from my amazing wife, and from all of you customers, subscribers and well-wishers.
So thank you for making it possible for me to do this for a living, thank you for buying my work, for reading the content I make and for helping me to get this far.
There’s a long way to go, there’s a lot more to come but what I have so far is all thanks to you.
